The beginning of this started off a bit rocky. I really like Leila but she came across a little too whiny and bratty at first. The story begins where the first book left off. Leila is trying to figure out her relationship with Vlad. He is a little distant which is annoying her. She soon discovers that he wants her to be a part of his line which freaks her out since he has never told her that he loves her. Soon she leaves with Maximus hot on her trail.The beginning left me feeling like a Bones/Cat story. Maximum reminded me of Tate. Just weird. Anyway, after she returns back to her home, Maximus is able to plant all kinds of crazy thoughts in her head after an explosion nearly kills her. The real story begins now as Leila tries to figure out who to trust. Let's just say I was not happy when she thought Vlad had something to do with that bomb. She let Maximus get a little to close. Of course, she snaps out of it and asks Vlad for help.Vlad is just such a dangerous character. I love it. He doesn't apologize for being who he is. He tries to protect Leila at all cost even if he knows she will disapprove of his methods. When he realizes his emotions, it was awesome. Leila had more of a rough time to stay in my heart. There was too much doubt in her mind for the man she claimed to love. She eventually turns around and becomes the woman from the first book. Kick ass and all business. The way it ended, I'm sure I will get more from them.
